Acadia University

Founded in 1838, Acadia University is one of the oldest and most respected liberal arts universities in Canada. Acadia is an integral part of the quintessential college town of Wolfville, overlooking the Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy.

Acadia has been continually ranked among the top five universities in Canada for undergraduate studies in the Maclean’s comprehensive Canadian Universities rankings, coming second in Canada for the 2014 academic year. This has been attributed to Acadia’s small class size and close relationships between the faculty and the students.

In 1996, Acadia was the first to make mobile computing technology available to all students in a post-secondary educational environment. Because of its pioneering efforts through the “Acadia Advantage” Acadia is a laureate of Washington’s Smithsonian Institution, and a part of the permanent research collection of the National Museum of American History. It is the only Canadian university selected for inclusion in the Education and Academia category of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award.
